(1) Aims and Scope : The aim of the journal is to provide a fundamental and wide variety of research and development information to readers in Korea and neighboring Asian countries. The research themes focus more on issues in Korea and neighboring Asian countries, such that the Journal plays a role as local research journal.
A list of topics considered to be in the scope of the journal are structural, nuclear, hydro, coastal and harbor, environmental, geotechnical and tunnel, transportation and highway, surveying and geo-spatial information, and railway engineering.
Also, the scope included in the journal are construction management, urban planning, and information technology.

2. Name of Journal

The journal title is KSCE Journal of Civil and Environmental Engineering Research. The abbreviated title is “KSCE J. Civ. Environ. Eng. Res.”.

3. Peer Review Process

Manuscripts submitted to the journal’s online system are, in general, subjected to a brief review by the Editor-in-Chief. Manuscripts that are poorly presented and/or fail to meet the general format requirements are rejected and returned to authors. All manuscripts successfully submitted for publication is normally subjected to peer-review and criticism by three independent and anonymous reviewers selected by Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editors. Selection of the reviewers is made shortly from the receipt of manuscripts. Two weeks of initial review periods are given to the designated reviewers. Request for the revision of the manuscript is informed to authors immediately after the initial review. Authors are then encouraged to revise their manuscripts within six months from the request of the revision. Upon re-submission of the revised manuscripts, three weeks of the second review periods are assigned to the same reviewers. After the second review, Editor-in-Chief or Associate Editor will have a full authority in making a final decision.

The authors of the article hereby agree that the KSCE Journal of Civil and Environmental Engineerig Research holds the copyright on all submitted materials and the right to publish, transmit, sell, and distribute them in the journal or other media. The Creative Commons Attribution License available from: http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/ is also in effect.

8. Author Fees

(1) Evaluation Charge : The evaluation fee is 60,000 KRW
(2) Publication Charge : The publication fee is 100,000 KRW up to eight print page, and 40,000 KRW per an additional page. The offprints cost is 30,000 KRW per 20 copies. The color printing fee is 95,000 KRW per color page.
In principle, research papers should be no more than 8 pages, and discussions and responses to discussions should be no more than 4 pages. Manuscript over the above limitations can also be submitted under the permission of the Editorial Board. However, excess level is confined to 50% of the prescribed limitations.

9. Process for Identification of and Dealing with Allegations of Research Misconduct

The submission of manuscript should be carried out in accordance with the regulation for publication of the Korean Society of Civil Engineers (https://kscejournal.or.kr/). As a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the publication and research ethics must follow the corresponding regulations of COPE(http://www.publicationethics.org)

11. Publishing Schedule

KSCE Journal of Civil and Environmental Engineering Research is published bimonthly, on the first day of February, April, June, August, October, and December.

The KSCE J. Civ. Environ. Eng. Res. allows open access to all published articles. A free fulltext in both PDF and XML format is avaliable at kscejournal.or.kr. Subscription Information: Neither registration nor subscription is required to access the electronic version of articles published in the Journal of the KSCE. The price for subscription of the print version is 60,000 KRW annually.

Is is accessible without barrier from Korea Citation Index (https://kci.go.kr) or National Library of Korea (http://nl.go.kr) in the event a journal is no longer published.

14. Revenue Sources

Revenue sources of KSCE Journal of Civil and Environmental Engineering Research (KSCE J. Civ. Environ. Eng. Res.) are from the support of the publisher (Korean Society of Civil Engineers) and the grant from Korean Federation of Science and Technology Societies (KOFST) funded by the government of the Republic of Korea. In addition, article publication charges levied to authors and subscription are the sources of income which is utilized in maintaining the printing cost.

15. Advertising

KSCE Journal of Civil and Environmental Engineering Research (KSCE J. Civ. Environ. Eng. Res.) does not accept any paid advertising in any of its publications (journal articles or website).

16. Direct Marketing

Journal propagation has been done through the journal web site and distribution of an introduction pamphlet. Many civil engineers and relevant researchers are widely invited to submit manuscripts through newsletter, e-mail, and the journla webiste.
